Refund Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains when you can get your money back for a Blocks subscription. It forms part of our Terms, and "we", "us" and "our" mean Blocks, as described there.
The short version
- Your first payment is fully refundable. Ask within 14 days if you pay monthly, or 30 days if you pay annually.
- After that, payments aren't refundable. You can cancel at any time and keep your paid features until the end of the period you've paid for.
- The Free plan costs nothing, so there's nothing to refund.
- Nothing you've created is deleted because of a refund or cancellation.
This summary isn't a substitute for the full policy below.
Who handles your payment
Payments for Blocks are processed by our reseller, Paddle.com, which is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle takes the payment, issues your invoice and processes any refund. This policy explains when we'll give you a refund. Paddle's own Refund Policy also applies.
Refunds on your first payment
You can get a full refund of the first payment for your organisation's Team plan, plus any charges for members added since then, if you ask:
- within 14 days of the payment, on monthly billing, or
- within 30 days of the payment, on annual billing.
This applies once per organisation.
When we refund your first payment, your organisation's Team plan ends straight away and it moves to the Free plan. Nothing is deleted. If your organisation has more members or active workspaces than the Free plan allows, it becomes view-only until it's back within the Free plan's limits or you upgrade again. The same happens if Paddle refunds your payment directly.
Payments after the first one
Renewals and any other later payments aren't refundable, except where the law or Paddle's policy says otherwise (see "Your legal rights" below).
Cancelling. You can cancel at any time. The organisation's owner can cancel from the billing page in Blocks, or through the "Manage subscription" link in Paddle's payment receipt. Your organisation keeps the Team plan until the end of the period you've already paid for, then moves to the Free plan. You won't be charged again. We don't give partial refunds for the unused part of a billing period, except in the cases set out in our Terms: if we close your organisation for reasons that aren't its fault, or if we stop offering Blocks.
Adding and removing members. On the Team plan, every member of your organisation is billed.
- When a member joins, you pay for them for the rest of your current billing period. On monthly billing, this is added to your next bill. On annual billing, it's charged straight away.
- When a member is removed, you receive a credit for the unused part of the period, which is taken off your future bills. It isn't paid back to your card.
Your legal rights
This policy doesn't limit any rights you have by law.
Depending on where you live, consumer law may give you extra rights, handled through Paddle. For example, consumers in the EU, EEA, Switzerland and the UK have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase, and some other countries give 5 or 7 days. Paddle's policy also gives UK consumers on an annual plan 14 days after each yearly renewal. Where the law or Paddle's policy gives you more than this policy does, the more generous rule applies.
If Blocks has a technical problem that stops you using the features you paid for, please contact us first so we can try to fix it. If we can't, you may be entitled to a refund under consumer law.
How to ask for a refund
Either:
- email us at support@getblocks.io from the email address you paid with, including your organisation's name, or
- ask Paddle directly, using the link in your payment receipt or at paddle.net.
Refunds go back to the payment method you used, in the currency you paid in. Paddle usually processes them within 14 days of approval, and your bank may take a few more days to show them. We can't cover differences caused by exchange rates or your bank's own fees.
Refunds may be refused where there's evidence of fraud or abuse of this policy.
Payment disputes
If something looks wrong with a payment, please contact us before raising a dispute with your bank. It's usually faster. If a dispute ends with the payment being returned to you, your organisation moves to the Free plan, in the same way as a refund.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version in place when you made a payment applies to that payment.
